Would you be more hesitant to tell someone you had an abortion, or that you took plenty of herbs and vitamins to induce a miscarriage in the first week or 2 of missing a period?

in response to the answers already.
1. I wouldn't have considered either until this last week either :(
2. An abortion is killing a fetus, inducing a miscarriage, yes, it's bad, but the body will naturally expell it without a doctor slicing up the embryo to suck it out.
3. It's, I believe, a more humane way to terminating an unwanted pregnancy and avoiding an unwanted abortion
I know this is a very very touchy subject, but you shouldn't judge until you're in those shoes...this is very difficult you know.

also, the way I am going about this will cause no harm to me, or to the fetus if it doesn't work. My method is actually to induce a period, if it works it works, if it doesn't, it doesn't.
If it doesn't, I have no other choice than to have an abortion, something I am set against, so I prefer this does it instead of the pain of an abortion which can cause harm to me for the rest of my life. The method I'm using is strictly parsley and vitamin C

I'd be horrified to think of either one. But I think if you must murder a child having a medically trained person do it is probably the best idea. It will be done correctly, with an extremely minimal chance of the fetus surviving and being born deformed to an irresponsible mother.

In my opinion the reason that an abortion preformed by a medical professional is more accepted than using a "home-remedy" to achieve the same effect is mostly because it is safer for the woman. You are more likely to do harm to yourself by trying to terminate the pregnancy yourself. Also, there is no 100% guarentee that the herb/vitamin will actually terminate the pregnancy, or merely cause deformities and other problems to the fetus.

It's pretty pathetic how closed minded people can be.

I would support an abortion 110% if that's what the woman thought was best. Miscarriages happen, too. However, having an induced miscarriage is similar to an abortion.

I wouldn't be hesitant to help anyone through (As in supporting emotionally) either decision.

Edit:

Having read your details, I apologize that you have to go through this decision. It's tough, I would know. I experienced a miscarriage early on in a pregnancy that would've been unwanted. If I had remained pregnant, I would've had an abortion, only because I wouldn't want my child to be a mistake. Before the pro-lifers jump on my ***, I was safe. With a condom PLUS birth control. I still got pregnant. If you need to talk about it, feel free to mail/IM me. I wish you good luck upon your decision, and do realize that most people on here will tell you that you're a murderer.

You're not. You're doing what's best for you, and for the unborn child.

Home based remedies to induce miscarriages are STILL abortions sweets. Even MISCARRIAGES are abortions...they are spontaneous aobrtions...ALL abortions are termination of pregnancy. Home based remedies are RARELY safe or effective. Home based remedies have been known to result in infections that require surgical procedures and sometimes total hysterecomies. Some home based remedies result in the woman bleeding to death. Which is why home based remedies for ABORTIONS are illegal in the U.S. If you want to terminate a pregnancy (because that IS WHAT A MISCARRIAGE IS) go to a doctor rather than being stupid.

its not really heard of anymore... I think also cause a abortion is way faster than taking a herb and hoping that its gonna work.

Personally, I think your question is rediculous. An abortion is an abortion whether you take a pill, drink some tea, take some herbs, stick a coat hanger up there, or have a vaccuum suck it out. It is all the same-interferring with the natural progression of human reproduction.

i would not do either, they are both forms of abortion. How are you against a doctor performing a procedure but not you putting things in your body to kill your baby. Neither are humane and they are both killing a baby.

Who said any type of abortion was more acceptable then the other? That's a new one on me. I would think it would be more responsible to take precaution's against pregnancy then to figure out away of terminating one.

Either one is killing your baby, so I'd be pretty damned ashamed of either.

People have this idea that abortions are "safe and legal" and performed by "doctors" (killers) that makes them ok.
