½ of a mole means to take the atomic weight of copper, and divide by 2 . . .

Avogadro's number is the number of atoms in a gram-mole of a material. The atomic weight of copper is 63.546, which means a mole (Avogadro's number of atoms) would weigh 63.546 grams. So half Avogadro's number of atoms would weigh half that.
