Mark, you must be new to this. To show powers, use the carat. Then your first expression is
-4x^2 + 2x -1. Easy for you, easy for us.

Leading coefficient is the constant in front of the variable to the highest power. You should be able to identify the term and figure it out for yourself. In the first problem, x^2 is the highest power, and the leading coefficient is -4.

The polynomial degree is the highest power in the expression. In problem 3, this is a 4th degree polynomial, since you have a w^4 term.

A monomial is an expression with 1 term, a binomial is an expression with 2 terms and so on. So just count terms and figure it out. In problem 1, you have a trinomial (three terms)
