Both "The Scars of Evolution" and "The Aquatic Ape Hypothesis" by Elaine Morgan are very compelling reads offering an alternative to the transitory stages of human evolution, and I really wished that they were longer, though they do compliment each other well without having to read both of them to have a clear understanding of the subject. Also, I have found "Shadows of Forgotten Answers" by Carl Sagan a real page-turner, though most people find his writing rather dry, I think that it is extremely elegant and simple even when tackling the most complicated of subjects as he covers almost everything, yes, everything, in this writing.

A fair few- I can't throw them away. As many as I can read. I love books- I would like to have enough to fill one of those walls made of just books. I don't really buy expensive books- I usually get them second hand from Ebay or charity shops. My favourite book is Howls Moving Castle- it is witty, I adore the characters and because it is so familiar to me now- it is comforting so I read it when I am ill or feeling down. I know its kind of a kid book but I think its lovely. Boudica - Dreaming the Serpent by Manda Scott. I have read the other three and this is the last one. I love this series and I can't wait to get a copy. Fantasy- I just like to get away from this world for a while and forget about the bad and even the good of this life adn consider what it would be like somewhere else. If I wanted to learn about the reality of this world or life then I could just watch the news.

Yes!! I am reading "A Feast For Crows" by George R.R. Martin; I also got the fourth book in the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series, by Anne Brasheres, and I still have to read "The Nanny Diaries." Here are some other good books: "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens, "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemginway, anything by Stephen King, anything by Ray Bradbury, anything by Isaac Asimov.

That is very broad. You didn't tell us what you like to read; fiction, non-fiction, mystery, western, autobiographies, biographies, self help books, christian, history etc....
But anyway- A great book to read is this one that I read not too long ago. Tortilla Curtain by T. Coragehessan Boyle.
I like John Irving. Try some of his books.
James Clavell wrote some darn good books that I couldn't put down. Like; Shogun and King Rat.
Fatal Vision was a good and fast read. I think the writer's name is Joe Guiness or MaGuiness.
Check out the New york bestsellers list.

Yes...
At the moment, I'm reading The Expected One by Kathleen McGowan. In a way, it's the twin sister of The Da Vinci Code. :-)
Also a good one is by The Holy Woman by Qaisra Sharaz. It's a story about the lives of Pakistani women.

GOOD OMENS!

It's a wonderful book and if you like british humor you will love this book.

Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (1990) is a fantasy novel written in collaboration between Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

The book is a comedy and a somewhat parody of the 1976 film The Omen (as well as other books and films of the genre), concerning the birth of the son of Satan, the coming of the End Times and the attempts of the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley to avert them, having become accustomed to their comfortable postings in the human world. A subplot features the gathering of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse — War, Famine, Pollution (Pestilence having retired in 1936 following the invention of penicillin), and Death — the last of whom is characterised in a manner reminiscent of the personification of Death in Pratchett's Discworld novels and calls himself Azrael before his final exit.
