In the Eastern Conference...yes...other teams coming to Detroit and winning is not easy thing to do. As experienced as the Pistons are and this season they are hungry...something I dont think they were last season.
As far as the fans go...winning can get boring from a fan standpoint...but when the tip off signaling the start of the playoffs begin...the Palace will be the place to be in the Motor City.

Despite being nearly 20 years old (the oldest of any NBA stadium--I think), The Palace of Auburn Hills is largest arena in the NBA, and during big matchups the crowd really gets into the game. As a Detroiter, we're willing to let smaller regular-season games slide in Basketball and Hockey because for the Red Wings and Pistons, the only part of the season that matters for us is the playoffs. I recall a few weeks ago, the Pistons were playing one of the better teams in the league (Suns or Mavericks, I think), and a foul was called, but play continued for several seconds because there was so much crowd noise that the players didn't hear the whistle.
Call me a homer, but I think that The Palace is the best home-field in the NBA during the playoffs, but when the Pistons have clinched the top seed and they're playing a lowly team like the 76ers, as they did last night, we don't go all-out because we know that it doesn't matter.

First round is against the Magic, no big deal there. 2nd round is the first test, the winner of the Heat and Cavaliers match-up. They lost to the Heat last year and struggled to get past Cleveland. If they still survive thay face Chicago, 2nd best defensive team in the league. Come on they would have had the advantage if they have secured the second seed because they would have had a lighter task. Their mission this season is a lot like last year, grueling and mind-wrecking.

Yes, remember that the post season is different from the regular season. Detroit will surely use that advantage throughout the playoffs

i think of they are going to be around a 4 seed at the back of Orlando, Boston, and Cleveland. this provides them domicile court interior the 1st around probably enjoying somebody like the Hawks or Nets. yet while they don't get in sync they'd fall to even a 5 or 6 seed, yet this is extremely no longer likely.
