I am just wondering how long my transmission should last if I floor it daily. Sometimes I like to put it in neutral and rev it up to hear the exhaust, then when the rpms come back down put it into drive and take off. I manual shift sometimes too (3 into D, but never down too much). Pretty much all the time I put the pedal to the metal. I was hoping it will last the lease period anyway.

Also I love doing burnouts. I have probably done 10 or 20 really good, 15-20 second burnouts holding it in manual 2nd gear. Is this really bad on the trans? The fluid still looks nice and pink but when you wipe it on the cotton towel it has a little bit of black in the middle, but not too much. I will probably get the fluid changed around 20k miles.

I appreciate any answers. Thanks.

If it has a 4L65-E, it's not a real GTO. What you're driving is an overpriced cross between a Chevy Cavalier and and Australian Holden with a bunch of emblems plastered on to make you THINK you're driving a muscle car.

You are burning up the clutches in the trans. Showing off can get expensive and that is without the law getting involved. The guys now days make pretty good cars, but if you abuse them, the repairs can get pretty high. It's your car and do what you want, but don't come on here asking about how much it costs to replace a transmission. It is expensive. Good luck.

you are a little bit of a tard... if you abuse it, it will break.. thats been the rule for everything ever made by mankind.. but as long as you arent doing nuetral drops all the time, i think it may last the life of your lease.. i hope i dont buy it after you..them transmissions are pretty tough, but far from indestructable

How much money do you have? Did you buy this car? Keep it up and you will be in my shop at the end of a tow truck or someone else's. We love people that abuse there cars. No warrenty for them, just pay me the money. $3,000 to $5,000 please.

Dude...who cares...it's a lease. Burn those tires down. Meet me at the light and I'll blow you away.
