to end an animals suffering is the humane thing to do .but how do you know for sure that its not gonna make it. id call animal control and have them pick the animal up and let them put down the animal if theres nothin else thst could be done.

sorry guys im a hunter so the answer should be very obviouse. yes i would and have and still will. case in point I visiting a friend of mine in "the city" and we saw a sparrow with a broken neck. very sad, this little birds head was looking completely towards its back and was flapping in vain in circles. my city friend freaked out and just about wanted to run, i looked at the bird with compassion and tore its head off with one quick clean move. now dont bash me ok, thats how you do it. there is no reason to let animals suffer needlessly

I had to once with a mouse that a cat had mortally wounded.... it is not fun....
I also had to do that with a pet in organ failure...... because the vet assured me that the shut-down was a very painful process
I love animals & would ONLY kill one if it were to spare it from horrible pain

3 weeks ago, my cocker spaniel was dying in front of me, I had to bring her in to be put down, it was hard, but I knew it was for the best. now I know she is not suffering anymore, it was terrible watching her dying and suffering, so yes I would, but I wouldn't do it myself. and just seeing her tears in her eyes was all I had to see.

I wouldn't. I'd want to i just wouldn't know how. I'd probably take it to the vet and let them handle it. They know what their doing. If i tried to put it out of it's misery i could stuff up and make it worse. ; )

I would take it to a vet and pay for it to be put down....even if it was not mine. I would not want it to suffer any longer.

Of course as soon as possible. I couldn't stand watching it withering in pain. It is heartless to do otherwise.

i take them to the vet if possible to have them put down,or call the police and they put them out of pain
