I think the more damaging stereotypes are the ones present by the religious right concerning gay people. Take the "predisposition to evil" brought to you by the Pope. Or how about the dozens of lies packaged to look like scientific studies presented by groups like the Family Research Council. I could go on and on and on and on.

If you mean people on the religious right, that they are all homophobic gun-loving Bible-thumping gas-guzzling over-patriotic narrow-minded haters. None of which I am, while being on that religious right.

That they're not educated. They don't know how to think. They want everyone to believe like they do and to live by ultra-strict rules. They want to take over the government and turn it into a theocracy.
