I'm from New York, but I will take time to help someone that is lost. I would say "excuse me" if I stepped on someone's foot or bumped them on a crowded train. Why do we get so much bad slack?
Has anyone had a bad experience from a New Yorker?

You'd cop a "tude" too if your high school was like a United Nations meeting with 15 different foreign languages being spoken in one classroom at a time.

I love New York and New Yorkers, I'm from Pa and I think we honestly have bad attitudes! Every time I'm there, people are very friendly. I think it's like the French, people assume they are snobby or rude b/c of that stereotype, so they are almost subconsciously rude to them before N.Y'ers even get a chance to be nice or rude. But I appreciate N.Y. and everything it has to offer, including the people!

I don't blame New Yorkers for their bad attitudes.

I would have a bad attitude too if I had to support the Knicks, the Islanders, the Jets, and the Yankees

My first gilrfriend was from New York (Queens). I could not have been a luckier guy. Nice, sensitive and adventurous.

Rivalries are everywhere: Nebraskans have a joke about their Eastern neighbor, Iowa--What does Iowa stand for?

Answer: Idiots Out Wandering Around!

And you think New Yorkers are mean . . .

See, its everywhere.

Upstate where I am, people are much nicer about the little things.. we blame massachusetts for it all :)
And, when I cross the border ..they blame NYC..
So it just goes around in a big circle..
NYC blames Albany for an inefficient state government and being out-of-touch with reality..
I just think it is funny.
People from NYC are waaaay too spastic and trendy for me.. put down the double frappacrappachino and relax.. and who in their right mind needs a $2000 purse? You put lipstick a wallet and a pen in there .. sheeesh!

They spit everywhere possible. Even when it hits you, you get that snarky stare instead of an apology. The rats are as big as your head when you go to certain areas. You never know when you're going to be robbed, that's the part of NY I've been to.

i have been to New York many times and each time, found people to be nice. I don't know where they get their rep from.

Of course, I live in Detroit, so perhaps we're simply meaner than NYC here.

I am a former NY'er......... I am exeptionally polite...... always. I am kind to people & have no fear of helping out others.

I think you are painting a broad stroke over a group of people...

rather unfairly at that....

You want rude? Try living in Miami for a year......
