I think it is a very sad thing that has happened.
I also think that the media is trying, like usual, to turn this into something that it is not. I think they are trying to place blame or point a finger where it should not be pointed. I am really sick of spin. Why can't the media just say that a terrible thing happened today?

I live about an hour from campus and it's been really hard on us here. There is another university about 15 minutes from Tech and those students are really scared right now. I have a few friends who go to Tech I haven't been able to reach yet.

The law enforcement authorities in the area are to blame, not for the shooting, but for their poor reaction. The VT administration would be acting on their advice. They thought the shooter had left the campus. If he had, what would he have done? Who would he have shot? It sounds like the authorities did very little in the aftermath of the first shootings at the dorm. I guess they were afraid they'd panic people.

it made my blood run cold. as soon as i heard i said a prayer for them all. God bless all of them. It is so sad to raise your children up, they make it to a great school and some deranged moron kills them. for what? because he couldn't get what he wanted from a girl. if this isn't the most vile, wasteful crime ever done in my lifetime, i don't know what is.
and the coward had the nerve to take himself out of the equation. senseless and ashame that a moron could do this anywhere. You do everything possible to protect your kids and they make it thru high school, i call it the gauntlet. they go to college where they should be safe, going there to be something and a moron slays them. May the Lord bless them and take their souls immediately into heaven.

It's evidence of the existence of Evil within our society. It's not about guns but about sick people who kill. Evil is alive and well.
Babies have been stabbed to death and drowned by sick parents. Wanton murder continues to permeate our society while war continues to plague our world. All the gun control in the world will not stop this type of insanity killing. The annals of human history are strewn with atrocities beyond our comprehension. Those of us that exist in peaceful bliss constantly live in fear of evil and rightfully so. I'm just wondering what gruesome discovery I'll hear about on the morning news.

It's just a coincidence. Like anything else. It's a random day. What would the significance of a square be anyway? Not that your numbers have any significance anyway - you're just multiplying 2's.

I think it was very sad. What is the world coming to when our youth aren't even safe in their schools. Peace.
