How deep from where? If u take it from the Mt. Everest its 6371 KM. but if U take the depth from Mariana trench its 6349 Km. The avg depth of the earth is 6360 Km.

As far as maximum drilling is concerned, so far the deepest boring is not possible more than 20 Kms. The deepest mining has been done in South Africa in Gold mines which is 15 Kms.

Depending on which science text you are reading - the thickness of the crust of the Earth will vary from about seven to about twenty -five miles. This also is depending on where you are measuring it.The crust is thickest at mountains ( as you might expect) and thinnest under the oceans. The minimum thickness would probably be at the deep oceanic trenches. They do not drill a hole and drop down a tape, they make the thickness measurements by employing sonar.
There has been some very deep experimental drilling, but I do not recall how far they went.

The Earth is about 8000 miles in diameter, so if you had a strong enough and long enough drill, you could go about 4000 miles down before the drill started going "up" again.
