no, not everyone. I don't have a gun. don't want one, don't need one(no one does). Honestly, I don't understand it either. Guns kill, that is their purpose...more often than not the people killed are innocent of any wrong doing. You can't combat violence with violence. There should be no guns whatsoever!!!

I have 3 guns. The premise behind outlawing or regulating firearms is that if the people don't have firearms, then people can't kill people. This type of thinking is flawed due to the fact that it doesn't take into consideration the reason a firearm was used to kill. Yes, firearms are dangerous and deadly, but thinking the removal of all firearms will prevent killing is nonsense. Instead of focusing on firearms, we should be focusing on the motive and the mentality of the perpetrator or killer. Attempting to blame firearms for killing is the same as blaming a vehicle for an accident or blaming alcohol for creating alcoholics. Don't insult the families of the murdered today by taking the responsibility off the gunMAN and placing it on the gun.

I personally don't own a real firearm (just airsoft pellet rifles). There are (sadly enough) lots of people here who don't have the ability to think enough to not shoot someone. If they intended to kill the person, then they aren't exactly right in the mind. However, not everyone that wants a gun is this way. if gun laws were stricter, it would probably not allow those with no intentions and the smarts to keep their gun away from children to get a gun. It probably wouldn't decrease the death rate due to guns because there are many ways people can get guns illegally and kill people. Laws have very little effect on people with strong intentions; if they want to do something badly enough, they'll find a way to do it.

To answer your question ... NO.
But 80 million Americans own more guns than 300M (the population) who live their.
Gun ownership varies from state to state, and even though fed legislation prohibits gun ownership for those under 18, many state laws allow it much younger, some states have no laws on age to carry a gun, you may not own one, but you can carry one.
Their are over 25,000 legeslative gun control laws in the US, but when in some states, children are allowed to not only carry a gun but as young as 12 years of age legally buy a gun it is sad. Beyond sad actually.
Gun suporters will always say "Guns don't kill people, people do" but guns are only manufactured for one purpose to kill, they forget the obvious.
In some States, their is no age limit to stop child possession of of a gun, only the ownership or registration of ownership of such.
To stop these sort of tragedies wont happen when you have over 300M people and over 300M guns...... yes the constituion may have allowed people to have guns, but when it was written they did not mean automatic extermination by the weapons that are so freely available today.

I own a gun, and I am licenced by the state of Texas to carry one. The reason I am able to get a licence is the fact that I am a drug-free law abiding citizen who is mentally competant. I have had extensive training and practice regularly. Safety always comes with regard to firearms.
I consider my CHL a tremendous responsibility which I take VERY seriously. I do NOT go around threatening people with my gun. I keep it under my control at all times and hope that I never EVER have to use it. I am aware of the consequences of using it, and would only do so in order to save my life or soneone else's.
Most people who are killed by guns, are killed by hardened criminals who are not legally entitled to own a gun in the first place. Almost always, they have acquired their gun by illegal means, for the express purpose of committing a crime.
Stricter gun laws are not necessarily the answer. Too often they take guns out of the hands of capable law abiding citizens, but do nothing to disarm the criminals.

Are you going to outlaw car's in Iraq for carring bomb's?
I'm sure this is coming that last shooting (32) students is really sad. One SICK BASTARD pulled the trigger on a gun.
You want to take the gun away, then comes bomb's (with a little education you can build one with common house hold materials) Do we outlaw bleach & ammonia?
You can kill with a knife. Do we outlaw steel?
Their sick people in this world taking away the most common method will not stop the tragedy. You have to fix the mind behind the killing.
I own 3 rifles, shotgun for bird hunting, .223 for varmints coyotes, etc. And a old 25/35 winchester similar to the rifle my grandfather carried. Does any make me a killer,NO.
I guess my point is taking away one method of killing will only resort to different methods.
Capture and fix the dangerest mind behind the trigger.

First of all, not everyone in the US has a gun. Second, in some states, law-abiding citizens are not allowed to even own guns, so only the police (who often cannot get to a crime scene in time to prevent a crime) and the criminals have guns.
Now, try to understand this. The criminals do not care about the law. So, even if guns were made totally illegal, the criminals would still have guns, because they do not care what the law says. Banning all guns will NOT prevent innocent people from getting hurt.

I don't think as many people
have guns as they once did.
But for sure all the criminals do.
The criminal element will always
find a way to get what they want,
and what you have. Believe It.
There are so many different types
of people pouring into this country
each year and fewer and fewer controls
on what requirements are necessary to do so.
It's no wonder the crime rate is sky rocketing.
30,000 die each year..not sure
about your facts. but unlike most
European countries the United States
has 55 Global Cities and 3 Alpha Global Cities,
New York, Los Angles and Chicago.
The population has been at an alarming
rise since it hit the 100million mark in 1915,
200million in 1967 and 300million in 2006.
These facts alone make the 30,000 number
you mentioned, look very small indeed.
Everybody wants to be here.......and they are.
They bring their own problems with them,
they bring their own guns also.

No, I don't have a gun, and I don't want one. I have kids, and many gun deaths are attributed to accidents in the home. My brother was shot in the chest by my other brother by accident with a pellet rifle when they were kids playing around, and that scared the h*** out of me. My brother survived, (thank God it wasn't a shotgun), but he had a pellet in his chest the rest of his life....the doctors couldn't remove it. Not everyone wants a gun, believe it.

The gun laws really should be more strict here. I am pretty sure it is the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights that gives you the right to bear arms. Guns for protection, but plenty of people use them for no good. If guns were illegal, there would be no gunshot deaths. Period. Well, maybe a few from the lawbreakers.

I have several, but if some of the knee-jerk anti gunners responding had their way, I would have to give them up. That would mean only the criminals would have guns. Then what? Let those moron crackheads be the only people running around with guns? They would kill people at will......maybe even some of the anti gun crowd.
Boy I bet the anti gunners would wish they had a gun then, right before their brains were splattered everywhere.
