Who was better at dunks? M.J. or DR. J.?

Dr J was the best. He would line up the biggest person on the court and dunk thru them, not just around them or quickly throw it down, but he would actually jump at them, hang in the air and power on top of them. He played when the fouls were harder than they are now and the defence from some of the players resembled NFL.

I guess they're about equal. When it came to dunking, Michael definitely jumped higher and hanged in the air longer. But Dr. J was more powerful and had larger hands and longer reach that enabled him to do many things with the ball while in the air. Jordan himself admitted that he merely spiced up or improved on Dr. J's dunks, i.e. the foul line dunk and the cradle. Same thing with Vince, for that matter, he kinda improved on MJ's and Dominique's dunks. What I'm trying to say is unless we could put them in one and the same contest, all of them including Wilkins and Carter, we'll never really know.

I don't know. That's a good question but I would have to say M.J. because he seems more creative.

Unfortunately we never got to see the doctor in his prime (see: ABA) splattered all over the airwaves the way MJ was. I remember when the NBA FINALS were shown tape-delayed at 11:30 p.m.

From what little I've seen of the Dr., he'd give MJ a run for his money in the jamming department.

Dr J was better than MJ and the gap is a chasm. The best of all time is the Human Highlight Reel - Dominique Wilkins.
