It started with the big bang the how it started and when it started has been disputed. It will always expand, and it will continue to recycle itself, the universe is endless. To us we are distined to remain on this planet to be doomed. The universe is composed of infinite space and time and also life.

The universe is a finite entity one day it will go out of existence.
The universe started as a single space-time pulse close to time zero.
It was a minimum pulse that could not be any smaller and exist.
It contained all the laws required for the universe to evolve into what we see and experience to-day.

Always research your questions on Yahoo Search or Google Serach before asking here. If you do that you will get far better answers to your questions much, much faster.

See Ian Ridpath's book, ASTRONOMY, DK Publishing, NY, NY, for illustrations on how the Solar System and possibly the entire Universe began. He explains it in easy to understand words with step by step drawings. It is very fascinating to read.

I think some really humungous kid (in an alternate niverse) popped a stick of chewing gum into his mouth, and blew a really giant bubble. Thus, our universe is still in the expanding stage.

the big bang, and for rachi why does the big bang have to be chance. i believe in the big bang and god and if god does exist he probally fine tuned everything so that all this could happen because of the big bang. or maybe this all started frome a blackhole that swallowed the previous universe and then when it died BAM the big bang and our universe until all those blackholes we have create another big blackhole and BAM reborn again.
