Sounds like you are feeding him the right amount. It is almost impossiable to "Overfeed" your fish to the point of death. Unlike goldfish bettas have very small stomachs and will stop eating when they are full.

everyone has their own opinion with regard to how much a fish should eat. Most people generally underfeed their fish thinking they will become fat or die of overfeeding. Of course becoming fat lazy fish is a possiablity, generally fish will pass unneeded foods thru their bodies.

Clean up any foods that are not eaten to prevent decaying in the tank.

You are fine with what you are doing.

6-10 pellets a day, depending on how much he will eat in 2 minutes. Usually they know when they're full. A tiny tiny pinch of bloodworms every other day as a treat.

What your friend was feeding is a very reasonable amount for a small male. If he gets much larger you could add another pellet or two. The biggest hazard in over feeding is fouling the water. As long as you clean up his left overs a few minutes after he stops eating you'll be in great shape.

The simplest way would be to feed him the amount which is as big as (or as small as) the size of his eye ball. Just one eye ball not 2 eye balls put together.

LoL. you should be, cuz one time, i accidentally dumped a whole lot of food into his tank (like 1/2 a bottle), and he died like the next day. So, I recommend not doing that and you should be fine

Feed him no more than he will eat in 5 minutes, once or twice a day.
