it is living your life to the fullest, not necessarily being happy just the fact that you must continue to seek joy and happiness and that we have that right to do so. Thomas Jefferson was a genius among geniuses wasn't he?

It is a concept more than a tangible. So you can have all you want and still not be happy unless you are truly at peace with yourself first and then others.

The pursuit of happiness is a never ending chase. No matter how happy we are in life, there is always something more and better. As Americans we are entitled to chase this "better" way of life, more commonly known as the American Dream, but no one is assured to reach it.

not only the finding of happiness, but the ability to chase one's dreams and imagine new ones is what i think the pursuit of happpiness is all about. we may find satisfaction and become happy, but there will always be NEW dreams to pursue.

happiness can always be there once it's been achieved, but it can also be a building block upon which further dreams and ideals can be constructed. it's a worthwhile and rewarding goal which can build upon itself.

Happiness cannot be pursued, it can only be experienced. Happiness is a choice - you choose to be happy. If you are not happy now, you will likely not be happy later (no matter what changes in your life).

One of those Jeffersonian phrases that sound lovely and inspirational, but nobody really knows exactly what it means.
