It happened because some stupid asshole was able to get a gun and do it. It happened because some stupid coward couldn't handle not having a girlfriend, and couldn't just kill himself, he had to take 32 other people with him. Is it any wonder why he didn't have a "friend" to talk to about how low he was feeling rather than commit such a cowardice act?

There is no way to know why someone would do something so insane. Also, it sounds like the campus should have been warned of danger after the first part of the shooting. That would have probably have saved some lives.

The same reason it will happen again and again...because people are "off center" and do not seek the proper treatment for their demons..also it will continue to happen because people that see signs of someone being "off center" do not notify the proper authorities and do not want to get involved with other peoples problems until it spills over and they have no choice but to deal with it...I'm sure that someone somewhere knows the killer and saw signs but did nothing.."am I my brothers keeper?"..the answer is YES YOU SHOULD BE!!!! prayers go out to everyone affected by the tragedy

Because we have a culture where life is no longer respected. Abortions are legal everywhere. Religion has been thrown out of schools. Kids are been taught that they are nothing more than animals. Sex, immorality and violence is glorified in movies and all over the culture.

The lack of mental stability. People are more messed up in the head now a days because they do not know how to manage their emotions. Psychology is no joke.

It was probably some loner, looser who got teased too much. He just snapped one day and took it out all over the campus. Hitler's birthday is soon and lots of bad things happen around this time of year (OKC bombing, Waco Texas Fire).

they were warned that a shooting was going to take place. and they didnt take it serious. may the students rest in peace and my heart goes out to their parents.

The news said it was over his girlfriend but I dont see how anyone could go postal enough to kill 33 people and themselves over their girlfriend.

I agree, lack of parent attention. The Univeristy didnt had appropiate emergency system.
