...from rural Kentucky.

The people I've met from TEXAS have been, by and large, very helpful and friendly, and that's the primary reason I'd be moving to Texas (because I'm the same way!) I'm intelligent, responsible, and college-educated. I'm also looking for a reasonable cost of living (not breaking the bank to pay for an apartment), low crime, a great singles life, and access to arts and culture.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'm also a fan of the west side of Houston. Low crime, everything is clean, and best yet, Costco! (Okay, kidding about the last... we have Costco, but I wouldn't base moving here on low prices for high end items).

No offense, but you're looking for things I'm looking for. And Houston just doesnt' have those. We have very high crime rates, everyone is married, an okay arts scene, and very, very, very expensive living. Alot of people are not college educated and rely on government aid. I'm just telling the truth. I've worked in various professional careers and can tell you from experience what is dealt with. Also, 89% of drivers in the Houston area are downright rude and dangerous. Houston has gone down hill in the last 3-4 years.

If you have a car, live in Clear Lake. The apartments are OK, especilly compared to the rest of the nation's prices. South Shore Harbor area is great. Access to all kinds of great places and things to do.
Arts Alliance Center, Mediterranean Cafe, nice townhomes on or near the water in Nassau Bay. Ballet at Univ. of Hou. Clear Lake. Lots of restaurants hire musicians. Plenty of coffee shops all over the place.
No car? Live close to downtown in one of the new lofts. Close to the railway and on the bus lines. World class art district, zoological gardens, downtown has a new facelift.
Stay away from east Houston and Pasadena/ ship channel areas.
The possibilities are endless.

Hi - West Houston is pretty safe. Katy is in West Houston. Also, the Woodlands is a good area to live. The artsy stuff is in the museum district. There is lots to do in Houston. Be prepared for the traffic!

um west houston ( where I live) isn't a great place, unless you go to memorial area, and that might break the bank a little.

Tomball, Woodlands, Katy..those are some good area's. Spring too.

If you do look at the memorial area just remember too not go south of westheimer!

No concerns, you will discover reliable acquaintances (each physique is exceptionally friendly here) & reliable instructors in Houston. Houston is likewise exceptionally low fee while in comparison with maximum enormous cities interior the U. S.. in the experience that your Dad unearths a reliable activity, why no longer supply it a attempt?

I'm a west houston/ katy fan, great schools and shopping, low crime and easy access to Down Town and the sports venues. Woodlands is pretty but you have to pack a lunch for the drive to anywhere from there.

Check out the Spring/Woodlands/Conroe area. Lots of land and home for your money, and plenty to see and do, and it's a short drive to Houston as well.
