If you are referring to the film Song Of The South, it doesn't exist on dvd. It also never existed on VHS. Disney never officially released the film due to the potential racist backlash. The film is about a black sharecropper, who is extremely uneducated, and he tells the story of these black animals (brer rabbit and brer fox). At the time of it's release, no one batted an eye, but in today's world, people get offended if you refer to a basketball team as nappy heads. Granted, Imus' comment WAS offensive, but Disney has no plans on ever releasing Song Of The South. Although, there is always rumours abounding, and they just might attempt to release it one day. But seeing as how family friendly Disney is, it mayb be a while, till they can figure out how to release it without offending a huge population of people.

Hands Down!!! My favorite Disney film is "Song of the South"; this DVD-unreleased part live action/part animation is one of the most moving, enchanting and magical films in the Disney library. It's hard not to be jovially moved by the tales of Uncle Remus, the adventures of Brer Rabbit/Bear/Fox, and the poignant human lessons learned, in the telling of the tales (not to mention, the classic Disney song, "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da"). Unfortunately, the reason for the lack of DVD release (it was last seen on the screen around the late '70's), is because of the wretched and particular time in American history, which the film depicts, has been deemed 'politically incorrect', and supposedly exploits certain racial tensions happening at the time. However, in my opinion, the enchantment of the film, and the poignant human lessons depicted in the telling of Uncle Remus' tales greatly overshadows (that's 'overshadows', not hides) the controversial aspects of the story; after all, there's no denying human history.....it happened, and fortunately, as an overall race, we have grown considerably since then. The good news is, apparently, the people over at the Buena Vista / Disney Studios have realized this, and at last report via www.videoeta.com, they are seriously considering a sooner-than-eventual release of the film. It is now available from various sources ('ebay', and the like) on low-grade DVD; I was fortunate to pick up both an original VHS and Laserdisc of the film over in Japan, years ago, during my Submarine Navy Tenure. Be on the look-out; you will not be disappointed!!!
(Note: THE ARTICLE LISTED ON 'WWW.VIDEOETA.COM' SHOULD REMOVE ANY DOUBTS, AS FAR AS THE RAMPANT RUMORS, AS WELL AS THE REPORTED SERIOUSNESS OF THE PEOPLE OVER AT THE BUENA VISTA STUDIOS, REGARDING THE PENDING RELEASE OF THIS FILM!!!!)

The song is from the Disney movie "Song of the South". It has never been released to DVD or video because some people believe that it is racist.

It was never released. Disney and other people thought it was racist. I have a video that has the song Zip-dee-doo-daa being sung. I don't know what the problem with it is.

I don't understand why Uncle Remus would be considered a racist...
Anyway, in lieu of the DVD, here are a few pics...
