40 ci means ... 40 cubic inches. which translates into 670 cubic centimeter (cc's). this is a measurement of cylinder displacement in a motor. this is not a representation of top speed. other variables determine this limitation, i.e. gear ratios, carburation, exhaust, and rider weight

40 cui = 670 cc. However cc and cui are displacement ( the surface of the piston X the stroke ,or distance up and down it travels in the cylinder.) Displacement does not equal a speed.
You have a misunderstanding of the engine size equaling a specific speed ,that is wrong. There are more factors than just the piston size that determine the speed and horse power of a bike.

I think we really can't say for sure how many. :) I don't know why I laughed a lot by this Stanza: A third stood up because fools do and said he should lead by election :) Well, it is good these fools sometimes hate violence but What I say is this: They create violence with their foolishness even if they hate it. So Who will be the next fool by election? And this is similar through out the world. A grand poem. Well-done.

There are 2.54 centimeters in an inch, so a cubic inch (ci) has 2.54^3 (16.387) cubic centimeters (cc). 40 ci= 655.5 cc
