I just finished a two year program in mechanical engineering technology. And got a job paying about $1400 a month. Is going back to college worth quiting my current job and having to find another after I finish getting a bachelors degree. My second choice is to stay around town and pick another major such as business. And also to get a diploma in air conditioning technology which relates to my job.

YES... but chose the school wisely... it may make a difference...

Here was my path of money fyi

Pre-college $18K per year
After 2 year college $22K per year
First job post college $48K per year
Third year as my own business owner $250K per year
Now way above...

Consider the end in mind before getting a new degree though.... Mechanical engineers make good money, so do some business students, but investigate where you want to live, what alumni were offered from colleges after school, career centers at univeresity have this data for every major... so be informated.... hope this helps

4 year degree over 2 year def. more money..

Now, air conditioning might be good to --- i would want a career path that lets me, a work for good money and get certified, learn how to get my own license, after a few years, start my own business... this could be a good path too, but find out how much folks like that make in your area... if you are looking to move, you might have better opportunities...

Begin with what you like to do, then investigate salaries form the college and in your area

If you get a BS in engineering you will be making more than double what you are making now, right out of college, and this will only get larger over your career. Getting a second AA degree will not help you as much.

I wouldn't worry about being able to find a job, since there are SO many jobs out there for engineers with a BS, much more than those with an AA.

mechanical engineers can make mucho money. my cousin already has a job lined up with Boeing.

Engineers are in high demand right now. If I were you, I would go back to school, 1400 a month is not a lot of money.
