A bullet proof vest won't help you if they shoot for the head. But you can't let worry affect your life.

Perhaps it is, sadly enough. I mean, without speculating too much here, the problem seems to be that the way our culture is anymore we should not be so very shocked when something like this happens. People treat each other with great disrespect ( I blame parenting over most all reasons) and with the trash in our media, plus all the other stresses and pressures put on people anymore, it's no wonder tragedies like this occur. Everybody's on a drug or pill for something now too, it's a recipe for disaster. On top of that, there are a lot of people who belong in prison who are out free among us all thanks to our wonderful criminal justice system. People need to watch how they talk and treat one another, they often go way too far with their "jokes", I'm not saying it's right, but someone just may take it personally enough to take their own form of justice out on them. I hate to see things like this happen, but we need to really look at the way our culture is anymore and change it if we want to live in a safe society.

Time to invent bullet proof head gear too. This is the down side of a free society. I just dont see why it went on for two hours after the first shooting was reported. How sad.

Absolutely! I am so afraid every time my youngest son leaves for school in the mornings. My older son is away at college and I pray every day for his safety. I called him as soon as I heard about this just to hear his voice! Some kids are just crazy these days and don't ever stop to think about what they are doing to people and their families. I would love to send my boys to school in full armor for protection. Actually, I would love to keep them home with me forever and never let them out of my sight! You know, it's not just in the schools. It's at the grocery store, the malls, even in people's own homes. Something has to be done about this! God Bless everyone and may their families all be safe!

Something has to be done. I don't think bullet proof vests are the answer, but there has to be something that can be done. This is beyond horrible. It is unfathomable to me how someone can hurt someone else like this. It's like their soulless.
