Christmas colors are red and green just because they are.
And Santa's suit is red and white instead of green because of the snow associated with the North pole...I'm guessing.

because of the fact it would seem stupid with Santa being crimson and green. The white trim makes him stick out with that little glow to him. as nicely some human beings have white Christmas timber.

Originally, Christmas was red and white. The committee made a last minute change. Santa's name was accidentallly dropped from the Memo's mailing list. So, since Santa did not get the Memo about the change, he continues to wear his red and white to this very day.
