yes, i don't care if your black, white, hispanic, asian, what ever race you are if you discriminate another race you should be fired on the real.

MSNBC was only licensed to rebroadcast a radio show so I don't think they would be liable for much.
CBS was who he actually worked for and had a contract with.
I don't feel he should of been fired
I feel the Rudgers team , being the most level headed bunch in the whole sorted affair , forgave and said that it wasn't their intention that anyone lose their job.
A 2 week suspension a nasty fine perhaps and maybe some good would of come out of it all.
Now since he was fired we my have opened a door we regret, already people are calling for the heads of others.

From a business standpoint: absolutely. Sponsors were fleeing and Imus had become a huge business liability to both MSNBC and CBS.

From a broader cultural standpoint: I'm not sure the best way to address unpopular ideas (even ones we find repugnant) is to silence the speaker through pressure.

MSNBC is the one who's lost the most money from sponsors pulling out, so what makes you think they haven't been?

I think he should have been put on suspension for a month..

Also made to pay a fine which would go to some organization where it would help African American people.

Make a public apology on air and also mail a letter expressing his regret to the whole team especially the black players.

Possibly undergo therapy for his issues.

ALthough I dont agree what he did, he shouldnt have been fired. I know of one famous black person, who says stuff about the other race and yet he is still in the news business

No the apology and suspension was enough. As well as public humiliation.
The girls forgave him they were the most important to take into consideration.

yes he should have been fired .. he is responsible for his own actions and no one but him should be punished .. he had said controversial comments in the past and this was the last straw
