umm there WAS no point to Columbine...and I wouldn't look at it as someone BEATING the top score......at least that's what it sounds like you're trying to say. Neither of them should have happened and it's a horrible tragedy.

The Virginia "massacre" was at VA Tech so I think Colombine will still be remembered for being bad but not the worst at a school that would go to the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University

Both were very tragic and sad. The only difference so far is that I believe the parents should have acted more responsibly with the Columbine shooters. They seemed to have had plenty of warning that something was wrong. Plus the kids should not have had access to those guns. As far as the shooter today, we will have to reserve judgment on whether someone should have noticed a problem or not.

V Tech is a university, not a high school. The 'point' of both is that they were pointless, and I doubt the students of either who died would have felt they were in some sort of race for 'deadliest ever'.

I think Columbine it's still worse because it was more than one person. To have one wacko ain't that strange but when it's two of them you know there's something wrong because they must have planned it.

no it does not degrade the impact of Columbine. It reinforces it.
By teaching kids to rely on government for security people die.
if one wants to be secure they need to assume authority over their own security..

Check our Conceal Carry in your state. The criminals don't abide by guns laws. We have to assume there are going to be bad guys doing this crap. Whether a wacked out college student or a muslim fanatic. The government cannot nor will not be able to protect you.
