At first I thought that the school shootings were very sad. I attend Wheat Ridge High school, and today we had a lock down because a note with a hit list of students reached the school. It was terrifying. Now, that I have experienced a school threat scare, I find this incident completely horrible and terrifying. I can only wish the families and those who experienced this terrible incident at Virginia Tech the warmest wishes of recovery and sympathy.

it's incredibly sad and downright horrible. whatever the killer's motive, it's not justified. he's definitely got mental issues...no one has the right to kill another human being. not to mention the school security/authorities went a little lax on the situation. How could they assume that the shooter had left the campus after killing the students in the dorm??? Schools are going to start needing better security and definitely have to come up with protocol for this kind of situation. After Columbine and other school shootings, my public high school had drills preparing us incase something like that ever happened. I'm surprised no one ever considered it happening on university campuses. Believe me...people at the university level are crazier than at the high school level.
Side note: it's about time laws against carrying guns should be passed...you give people the right to use guns, they're going to think they're God and kill whomever they chose.

Its terribly sad, that's for sure. But lets make one thing clear this isn't about gun laws as I have seen some posts say. Just cause some nut job goes on a killing spree with a gun doesn't mean we need better gun control. Every time we have a drunk driver kill some one we don't ask to take all the alcohol away or make it illegal to drive a car. Its about the compassion society shows for one another. People stopped along time ago caring about strangers. How often do we here "the shooter was a loaner". I bet if this guy had one friend to talk to, one professor to confide in, one "stranger" to say "hey my name is John how are you?" this guy might not have lost it.

It is sick and disgusting that he would do that just because he himself had problems. He definetly needed mental help and we in the United States need to find a good way to keep this kind of thing from happening more often. It is really sad and an awful tragedy. Not only were the people dead, but their friends and family were hurt badly too.

I think that they should have taken those earlier bomb threats more seriously. It is an event that never should have happened in the first place.
Once this guy started shooting in the dorms, why didn't campus or local police shoot him before he had a chance to get out of that building?

do no longer go. Been there, executed that. final twelve months, my district had a collection of bomb threats. each time, we've been placed into lockdown. absolutely everyone became into hustled into the top fitness center, and the doorways have been locked. protection on all entrances, and no person became into allowed to go away till the construction were "secured." we've additionally had "unauthorized centred visitor" lockdowns, drug lockdowns, and stipulations the place somebody risky the two became into no longer in custody, or escaped custody, and police felt there became right into a threat to the school. precise now, you're in all danger questioning, it could no longer ensue, precise? nicely, it ought to. All too definitely. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold in all danger informed some human beings, as nicely. And seem how that ended up -- the next day, plenty ought to ensue, and you do no longer want to be there while it does. in my opinion, taking a math attempt heavily isn't worth my existence. EDIT: If it have been me, i might stay domicile, and if I had to, i might bodily give up my friends from going, as nicely, to no longer point out anybody else that i ought to. i do no longer care if i'm getting in worry for contributing to juvenile delinquency, or in spite of. My college has 2 cops and a 12 or so cumbersome group individuals that would rather plenty carry their own, yet even nevertheless, this isn't sufficient. We in ordinary terms have approximately 1300 pupils, even though, my city has between the suitable drug and crime issues in the rustic -- if actuality be told, we made the conceal of Time magazine for our drug themes. absolutely everyone says, it incredibly is in ordinary terms a comedian tale, or a prank.. no longer likely to ensue.. yet incredibly, does it incredibly is counted how in all danger it incredibly is? the two it is going to, or it won't.. yet what if it does? you could no longer assure that it will no longer; no you could actually. there are guidance on the thank you to get weapons in college -- have confidence me. metallic detectors or no longer, it incredibly is remote from impossible. Say 19 of those "jokes" ensue in the time of 2008. So, via the 20 th, absolutely everyone thinks, "it incredibly is in ordinary terms a comedian tale.." yet, what happens while somebody's suitable pal, somebody's daughter, somebody's niece, seem down the barrel of a gun and don't stay long sufficient to realize what they are finding at? don't be the sufferer of "the only which surely wasn't a comedian tale." it is not incredibly worth it.

It's a horrible situation! I wonder why the campus police didn't stop him or shoot him after the first shooting! It makes no sense! I feel sorry for those poor people who are gone and their grieving families! Scary!

Well the guns were bought legally This guy had no police record or history of mental problems so he was able to buy these guns. He was having problems at school I guess one teacher had him thrown out of her classroom. His room mate said he got up and got dressed that day and seemed normal.\
So how could have we stopped all this?
