What is the most time you have spent to answer one question?

I spent 8 total hours helping someone set up a golf league once. The best answer went to a vote and I didn't win, but the person was very nice and thanked me several times. I would do it again.

I think the most I've ever spent is an hour or two. There are to questions that I've seen come up over and over again, so I took the time to compose a lengthy reply to each question if I see either question posted again.

I know some people don't like the "copy and paste" approach, by why reinvent the wheel?

For the records, the two topics I'm referring to are slavery reparations and whether or not NASA faked the moon landings.

You deserved the best answer.I once spent two hours looking for a lost friend for someone.I found that person.Wrote my answer.I e-mailed the person the address,with a map of how to get there.Then I got train times up,when they asked me.
Then it went to vote.Someone else answered "forget that friend".That got best answer.
Oh I got thanked too,and the person went to visit the long lost friend which he had been trying to find for years!!!

I spent about a half hour figuring how many squirrel pelts it would take to make a squirrel suit for an African elephant.
