Because they find it easier than accepting responsibility.
I have a lot more respect for people who admit when they made a mistake or admit when they're were wrong than I do for people who make excuses or try shifting the blame.

Human nature. It is easier to blame other people and circumstances. People like that are reactive people. They do not want to take responsibility. They are controlled by "things" outside their circle of influence.
Read the best selling book of Dr. Steven Covey, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and you will will learn a lot of things there about being Proactive and Reactive people. I have used this great book successfully to take people out of poverty.

Because people hate commitment, which at its origins is responsibility, whose get out of jail guilt free card is an excuse.

Some people don't want to admit they were wrong and they don't like taking responsibility for their actions. They can be very stubborn and always want to be right.

it's the natural human way...when i make excuses i know that i'm not telling the full truth, but i can't bring myself to come strait forward...it's that way for almost everyone it's just being human i guess...

coz we are so weak & kind
somtimes we do things that we cannot explain to others even to ourselves but don't want to hurt them, then excuses comes out
