I just got my guitar and I'm hoping to work up to some Children of Bodom songs. I, so far, have mastered Mary Had a Little Lamb. I know: pro, right? Well what are some songs that will challenge me to help me get better at playing, but not challenging enough that I cannot play them? Thanks.

My brother says that you should know the basics first. I would get a guitar teacher. My brother is getting good, and in no time so would you.

Detroit Rock City by KISS has a fairly easy solo that will help boost you confidence and simple chords. Also Mama im Coming Home by Ozzy has a simple solo that sounds cool and is pretty easy to play.

Drive by Incubus, the chord shapes are a little different than you might be used to, but shouldnt be too hard to figure out, and the solo is really simple, it would be a good first solo to learn.

plus its cool to play at parties because everyone knows it.
