Yesterday morning, as I was getting out of the shower, I slipped, fell and hit my head hard on the shower door. My husband rushed me to the emergency room ,where I fell in and out of consciousness for about 4 hours. I don’t remember a lot, because when I was awake, I was tired, dizzy, confused and dazed. When I was all alone, a male doctor came into the room, felt my head where I had injured it, said I’d be okay to go home, then he said he’d have to look between my legs. I was so tired, confused, and it felt like only half my brain was working, so I really didn’t question it, which was stupid, but I couldn’t help it. Shortly after he was examining me, I went black, and either fell asleep, or went unconscious. I asked my husband after we left what they were doing when they went down there, and he got upset. They never told him about it, and he saw no reason to do that. I call my close friend, who is a nurse, and she said that there was absolutely no way in hell he would have had to examine me down there. I’ve called the emergency room, and haven’t gotten a response. What do I do? I feel weird about this. I don’t have a good feeling at all. Who do I tell, should anyone actually believe me?

Forget the Emergency Room go straight to Administration, find out who was on call and who examined you. That is your medical information, don't let on why you want it yet.You will probably have to go to sign for your records, but read what you sign beforehand,so as not to sign any form of release of hospital personnel.Next get an attorney,No scratch all of the above, call an attorney first. If one won't give you a free consultation, then get a service called Prepaid Legal Services you pay 25.00 to join and a monthly of 25.00 to maintain but then you have legal access to all questions by phone any time you need.Contact a rape crisis center for further advice and counseling for both of you.
Remember it is protocol for a nurse to be in the room whenever a pelvic exam is done by a doctor, for this very reason,to be a witness to the procedure.
It's possible his prints are still on you, which would leave no doubt as to who touched you.Go to different facilty and get rape kit done if you haven't yet bathed, true no semen but prints. That is if he didn't wear gloves.

I think you should talk to trustworthy adults about this, yes. However, then you address your parents, be prepared for a "back-lash" (especially depending on your cultural and family background), since denial is a real issue and that will make you feel only invalidated over again. The sooner you resolve it (and you've been suffering with this for too long as is), the easier you can process it and leave it behind. good luck!

You and your husband should take full action on finding out what happened. I am furious for you! If it was just you and the evil doctor in the room alone, then it is his word against yours. he will just say you where out of it and making stuff because of your head trauma. keep calling and be a hassle. create a scandal. you could be protecting other patients from this doc by calling him out. I am surprised your husband hasn't but a bat to his knees already. Keep in mind that people might not actually believe you but the point is that you call him out and put him under the spot light. It might not hurt to call your local police and tell them your story and see their take and the matter and what legal rights you posses. I hope you conclude this matter, Peace!

I'm so sorry that happened to you. You should call the police and fill out a rape report, especially since the ER hasn't responded. If the police don't get far enough, you should call your local news station to call attention to the horrible actions of that rapist. You voicing what happened could save countless other women from the same thing. Best of luck to you!!

You need to file a complaint with the hospital administration. Your friend and husband are right to be concerned. That dr had no right to examine your pelvic area when that wasn't the area involved in needing to be treated.

Call the hospital and tell them. You need to tell them what that man did to you .. There is no reason the dr. should've looked at you like that.. If they don't do anything, you could try getting a lawyer ..

if you remeber what the man looked like.
you should call the police and make a complaint.
there is no reason anyone should of done that if you banged your head and if any one would have needed to examine down there he would of have a nurse or a doctor with him to do so..

I understand your confusion and outrage, but you are going to have a hard time getting someone to believe you.
