Math Help!?
Hi, I have some math homework i dont understand... Our teacher didnt go over it...
Can you show all steps ( If possisble) To these problems??
1) How many intersecting points occur when 4 parallel lines are perpendicular? IF you do know, how did you know??
2) How many lines can intersect at a point?
3) Whats does intersect mean..??
4) How are perpendicular lines like intersecting lines? How are they different?
Thank you!!
Im so dumb...

Sorry the first question, i wrote it wrong
It's
Ahh.. On number one--- ley me re write it ...

1) How many intersecting points occur when 4 parallel lines are perpendicular? IF you do know, how did you know??
parallel lines never intersect!

2) How many lines can intersect at a point?
an infinite number of lines.

3) Whats does intersect mean..??
intersect means that the lines cross.

4) How are perpendicular lines like intersecting lines? How are they different?
all perpendicular lines intersect, but all intersecting lines are not perpendicular. lines that intersect at a 90 degree angle are perpendicular.

Im so dumb NO YOU AREN'T!
at least you are trying and asking questions. don't put yourself down!

The four parallel lines will never intersect. That is the definition of parallel lines. Four parallel lines cannot be perpendicular. If you are saying that two of the four parallel lines are perpendicular to the other two parallel lines, then you would have four poins of intersection. It would look like a tic-tac-toe game.

An infinite number of lines can intersect at the same point.

Intersect means cross or cut. When two straight lines cross each other in the smae plane, the point where theyy cross is called the point of intersection.

Perpendicular lines are intersecting lines. They meet at a 90 degree angle. The two lines need not actually cross each other, but the must touch eqch other. L is an example of two perpendicular lines. T is another example. X is an example of two intesecting lines that are not perpendicular.

1. Parallel lines can't be perpendicular as parallel lines don't intersect but perpendicular lines intersect at right angles. So it's either a trick or you read it wrong.

2. Infinitely many can. Draw it and you will see.

3. Intersect means cross, like an intersection of two roads

4. Perpendicular lines must intersect at right angles, but intersecting lines can meet at any angle.

Good luck!

1. don't understand the question..lines can be parallel...they can be perpendicular...but they can't be para;;e; and perpendicular.
2. an infinite number of lines can intersect at a point
3. intersect means they cross at one point
4. perpendicular lines are intersecting at a 90 degree angle. not all intersections have to happen at 90 degrees
