The average CEO makes $14.4 million. Is the President of the United State's job more valuable than a CEO's job? I'm not saying he should be paid $14.4 million or more, but I think $1 million/year would be fair, IMHO. That's still less than many pro-athletes and coaches.

Since presidents tend to be independently wealthy, just because it costs so much to campaign, the pay is pretty irrelevant. However, the president has never made as little as he has in real dollars as he does today.

That seems about right for a person that no longer has a private life, who is hounded and criticized no matter what decision he makes, and a person whose life (24 hours a day) is TCoB (taking care of business)

I'd say about $200M per year. There is no reason for anyone to be president other than an ego trip. Private business gets the good people for CEO'S all we get in politics are wannabes.

He should be paid based on performance. In the case of the current president, his performance is so bad he ought to be paying us 400,000 a year!

i don't think he should be paid anything,it should be a priviledge to serve the people,but the people should cover his living expenses and what expenses it takes to run the government,because anything less and you have a king.

he gets to live in a house that he dose not have to pay anything on, he gets all he can eat, he gets the use of a very nice plane and car. that is lots more then i get and that is all he needs.
