Most fish won't eat the first 48 hours when they are transfered and the pet store should have informed you of that.

Give him time. Two days and he will eat no worries. If he doesn't eat after 48 hours re post and we will help further.

First of all, you need to let the fish "settle" into it's new tank. A fish gets very stressed when being moved from one environment to another.

Secondly, you don't know when the fish was last fed at the store (or wherever you got it from), so it just might not have been hungry when you fed it.

The answer to both problems is to give it a bit of time, try feeding it a little bit of flake food tonight and see if it eats it or not. If it doesn't eat tonight and tomorrow, then it could be ill in some way. For now, just keep an eye on it and see if you can tempt it later on with some food.

He won't feed for a couple of days because he has only just been moved into your tank, they need a couple of days to settle down. The stress of being moved upsets their digestion for a day or so.

Some fish do that when they change environments. It's normal. It's kind of the same way you'd act if you moved into a completely new surrounding. :) In two to three days, his appetite should come back. Try not feeding him for one whole day. Then resume feeding about twice per day.

It was the same with my goldfish when I bought him. Don't worry about it! Sometimes they can take a little bit of time adjusting to their new home. Continue to feed him, even if you don't think he's eating it. After awhile, you'll notice that he is eating.

Good luck!
