I live in australia and recently a law has been passed prohibiting young drivers from driving high peformance cars(V8, some V6) and outlawing engine mods to p-platers. So, what cars are quick and in price range of a youth, arounf 10gees? I kno Honda Civics are cheap and look ok but ive heard that the front wheel drive kills them, so what else is quick, ive thought about the older celica/supras or lancers, but what do you think??

This is a good law that we could use in the USA.
Actually, I'd like to see the law written that new drivers, for their first 2 years, cannot own anything capable of doing 0 - 60 mph in less than 12 seconds, and they should top out at 60 mph with a speed governor.
The reason? Back in my day (I love that phrase as I get older) several of my high school friends had cool cars like Camaros, Trans Ams and Mustangs. And every one of them wrecked their first cars. They just didn't have the skill or experience to handle those cars.
I had a crappy little 1979 Ford Pinto that went 0 to 60 in something like 13.5 seconds. Because it was such a dog, I never bothered with the aggressive driving. It simply wouldn't do it. As such, I learned to take it slow and drive safely. I've only had 1 minor fender bender in 27 years of driving, that cost only a few hundred dollars to fix. And that was on the Pinto 10 years after I first got it!

Whatever you do, DONT buy a hybrid car. They just don't work are horrible and slow.
It depends if you want a 2 door or a 4 door. A good 4 door is a evo (lancer), subaru, etc. A 2 door might be mazda mx-5 or mx-7 or s2000. Depends what kind of mods and style you want. Oh, and don't get a dodge srt-4, there out of production and have the same engines the PT Cruiser has, for gods sake my mom drives that hideous car.

A used Subaru WRX, try and get the one with the turbo and 2.5 engine. Engines and other components are cheap so replacements or rebuilds are easy on the pocket.
Or the try Baja/Outback if you're more the outdoors adventure type.
If still too expensive, the 80's models are good too but they leak oil. Find a turbo(you can't add it later cause tranies are different) and 4x4 on the fly, maybe with a low gear option.
All in all, Japanese 4 cylinder. No Korean or US unless you want to pay more for parts later.

What you need to ask your self is; what's this going to cost you interior the tip? you're finding at a $2400 fix for a marvelous vehicle with in simple terms 80,000 and relativly extra modern type. after it truly is performed it is going to in all probability be nice and pushed without challenge for a collectively as except you're finding extra to be incorrect. in spite of in case you bought it as is, you may get at maximum $2000 for the vehicle. so in case you're taking the 2400 and 2000 you have 4400 to spend on a clean used vehicle. A $4400 vehicle isn't the ideal interior the international. you're finding at figuring out to purchase a older type, ninety 8 or older, with greater mileage. as that stands, you're finding at issues even faster returned with your new used vehicle, and for this reason going to ought to spend extra funds fixing that, as a results of fact you will in no way purchase a used vehicle without needing to repair some thing. So, i could say fix the vehicle on your 2400, and be achieved with funds. it truly is the ideal element, not extra funds. so, consistent with what your month-to-month fee became into, you need to nonetheless be saving extra funds with the aid of repairing it. ask your self how plenty have you ever saved as a results of fact the money have been finished, does it outweigh what the upkeep would be? in simple terms what i think of would desire to be achieved.
