There shouldnt be a set screw it should just unscrew, If its never been taken off it might come off a little hard.

If its a stock one just grab it and turn real hard! But if your looking to remove the shaft also, pull the boot down and use a wrench to loosen the jam nut under it, the shaft will then spin right off.

If it's a floor shift, then loosen the set screw and unscrew the knob.
