where the terrorist train(Pakistan) and those that fund them(Saudi Arabia)?

That's where I would focus the the war, not on lining the pockets of oilmen and defense contractors in Iraq.

Your idea sounds sobering. I agree that if Bush really wanted to focus his war on terrorism, instead of rewarding his campaign cronies, then he'd have focused the military of the United States on those countries (regions) that directly support terrorism, rather than basing his invasion plans on the daily barrel production of oil for that country.

Um... Saudi Arabia has a ton of oil. And Pakistan is a nuclear power... which means that we can't just invade it. Not to mention that neither the American public nor the international community would support another US war right now without better cause than that.

And yes, we could probably put more pressure on these countries to get with our program, but it is a tricky business. Look at the way Iran has responded to our pressure.

Answer this question, Russia invaded Afghanistan a middle east country and ended up withdrawing it's troops and since then they have had no acts of terrorism from any middle eastern country, why is that? Because they stay out of the affairs of other nations. Why can't America figure that out so we will not have to send troops to half way across the world to fight a meaningless war.

You are so right, at least in the way I think.
Cut off the funds, to the terrorists and you cut their throats.
Instead of having all our troops, invading areas, like Iraq and Afghanistan, where theyh are tied down and just become targets, is useless. After four years, if we have learned nothing else, we have learned that much.
A better method, would be to use Hackers, and accountants, to work against them.
Then send some special forces after the training camps, find out where they are and bomb them out of existance.
Then beef up security at home, with our borders.
After the tragedy we saw today, at Virginia Tech. we can see, just how lax we are in that security arena.

That would upset the oilmen and defense contractors.

We can't have THAT happen! :0P

That would of course depend on whether or not the "War on Terror" was a legitimate war.
