Especially younger people. Would you feel comfortable talking about any sex questions with your doctor? What have they done to make you feel safe or unsafe to talk with them about this?

of direction. Many gay medical doctors cater to gay and Lesbian shoppers because of the fact GLBT sufferers would sense a gay physician is less complicated to be open with on very own concerns.Others are available, yet you will possibly no longer understand they're gay.

I came out to mine, I had an issue and I commented about it to him, I mentioned I'm gay because it had to do with the issue at hand. There were no problems.

However, I still hate my doctor, he treats me with a lack of interest, and doesn't listen. That's not real healthcare. I need a doctor that will listen to me, and understand what my problems are that I'm looking to get addressed. To treat me with a lack of interest just gives the wrong vibe, it's bad customer service. I do need to find a new one.

But yeah, they're confidential, so they don't really matter when it comes to coming out.

yes. it's very important to be able to be open with your doctor and ask sex sensitive questions. I went around trying to find a doctor who was gay-friendly, and while my doctor isn't a lesbian, she is very understanding.
i've had doctors, in the past forced upon me by HMO's, with whom i did not feel very comfortable. This is such an important issue yet very little attention is given to it. So i starred this question.

Yes, my doctors do know that I am gay. I feel very comfortable talking with my doctors about anything.

Yes he does. He's very professional, so it doesn't influence his view of me as a patient, but I think perhaps it makes his Mormon sensibilities a bit uncomfortable.

My previous doctor was female and she was THE best physician I've ever had. I felt totally at ease discussing anything with her. I remember the first physical she gave me and she told me not to be nervous as she had seen lots of "naked men before". I fired back, " I'll bet you I've seen more." She blushed, but heartily enjoyed the joke. :)

yes he does. he was the Dr. who delivered my children when I was living the life my family wanted for me...when I came out and started living the life I was meant to live, my Dr was especially kind and supportive in the whole ordeal. He also helped with my children learning to cope not only with my sexuality, but the separtion of their parents.

Well, I'm trans too and she knows about my gender and sexuality, kinda. (She thinks I'm a transsexual and not actually genderqueer, but I don't feel like answering a bunch of questions so that I can still get my meds.) She knows I'm sexually active and "interested" in both sexes.

this is a very good question, and one, I bet many people would answer "no" too.

You doctor(s) should know if you are gay or not. Very important information. Mine does know. Only within the last couple years though.

The lesbian symbol and rainbows were a dead giveaway. She understands just like any other knowledgeable, rational, intelligent human being would. I think that's all the comfort I need = )
