What instruments do you play? Some instruments or vocals, it's a lot easier to join a band that needs some one to complete their line-up.

Don't worry about finding a standard rock band line-up right away (drums, bass, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, keyboards. vocals... etc) in the first steps work with what you get and who you enjoy. I've seen more than a few bands with just a small drum kit and guitar, others with a guitar and bass, and one accordian with musical saw...

How old are you? This greatly affects where you should look for members or bands to join, and what places your band can play.

One good place to find members are open mics or concerts of bands of the same type of thing you want to do. As for ads, you can do that, but I have experienced that its easier and more effective to ask your friends and your friends friends.

You need to have a place to practice where you can make some noise. This is usually your basement or garage, but eventually, you can invest a couple hundred dollars a month on a practice studio, and it could be cheaper if you split this up with the other members and even a couple other bands (that you can trust with your stuff). Then you need to write some songs and/or learn a few covers, then get to know the kids in your area who put together shows, or if you're old enough, local clubs so you can get some gigs.

And a myspace band account. That's really the first step.

first you learn to play an instrument, if you havent already. then you find friends who play different instruments &/or sing. talk about the kind of music & other bands you like, play a couple songs together & see how it flows. every band is different though, depending on what you want to focus to be. If you dont care about ANYTHING but the music try to find insanelly skilled people. if you want to have fun with it, too, find people you know you'll get along with.

First...work on your skills. Dont be afraid to feel like your not ready. When you know your ready, look for instruments at peoples houses and ask them if they play. If they do, try jamming a little with them. If you like their style and they like yours, there is a great chance they will want to jam again. Musicians are very eager to find people they mesh with and I bet there are musicians out there like you lookin for a buddy (if you have skills). If this happens and you have one music buddy, jam whith each other. You might get lucky and there is already another musician in the circle makin three. Allow the band to almost manifest itself. If you need more people and your sudo band has some style, people will come. Try to record and listen to your jam sessions and grow together. Dont be afraid to play in front of your friends even in the beginning. this will motivate you and help out in the long run. Trust Me.

You've got to find COMITTED friends that will play. Two guitars, one drum, one keyboard, and one of you can be a lead singer along with the instrument you play. If you play more than one instrument you can switch once in a while. You have to know how to compose, but you can also play songs that already exist. Once you have your players, your music, and LOTS of practice, you can get people to come and watch and even pay for a show.

all you have to do is find some friends who play other instruments and find out if they're interested in being part of a band. most bands consist of a drummer, guitarist or two, a bassist and a vocalist, but its really up to you... you can throw in a keyboardist or banjo or whatever you want.
if you can't find anyone at first then just branch out, put up some flyers or something and see where it goes.

Advertise in your local "Throw-Away" newspapers, The Penny Saver" if there is one in your city.

Go to the manager of your favorite supermarket and ask the Manager if you can post an ad for band members.

theres just one reply to that, and in case your middle is into track, then do it. If you consider your going to head some distance with the "shoulda woulda coulda" perspective, or the "Ifs" perspective then your no longer gonna even get outta your storage, a lot much less be triumphant. Think approximately whether or not you rather believe you are going to be equipped to compete with different artists who've their soul into what they write. please maintain this in brain, and would possibly the well winds be upon your send and group whilst crusing into the brand new international of track and popularity. peace.
