Any opaque object will block an optical electromagnetic wave. A perfect conductor like a superconductor will block all electric fields. An unchanging magnetic field can penetrate a superconductor, but only if it's there when the material transitions to superconductivity. With no electric field, there's no way for an electromagnetic wave to propagate in a superconductor.
