Yes, one morning break, one afternoon break, & at least 1/2 hr for lunch...but they don't have to pay you for them & most employers don't.

The only Federal laws in the US regarding breaks apply to truck drivers. To the best of my knowledge, they don't actual require breaks during the work day. They primarily limit the total hours worked during any 24 hours or during any 7 days.

Yes. I don't know where you're from, but in BC, you're entitled to breaks based on the length of your shift. It starts with anything over 4 hours requiring a 15 min. pd. break. Look it up on your provincial government website. Each province posts that info online.

Where ? Each state has their own labor laws . . .
California does for many occupations but not all ,
Arizona did not use to for any , they could work you straight hours , NO lunch or breaks (unless you were under 16)
Check with your state labor board .

Federal law does not mandate one (surprise surpirise). Many of the "rights" we hold dear in the workplace are actually provisions won through union disputes over the years. Many workplaces adopted these rules, but they are not required.

yes it does and you can take a break anytime and as long as you want and if the employer gives you heck you can file a grievance through your union for harassment and if you are not unionized then you are definitely screwed
