ok i have a 55 gallon and i have 4 clown loaches and two of them are sick i have give them maracyn-two for five days now one looks better. but the other one is not eating all he does is lay on the bottom of the tank the fish store told me to use the maracyn two now i dont know what do with him he is in a diffenert tank now maybe someone can help me i dont want to flush it . he was breathing really fast and not eating and his fins look torn he is not dead

What are they sick with? Clown loaches have skin not scales so they are very sensitive to most medications. You have to use half the recommended dose on them. And I remember reading somewhere that you DO NOT USE anything with copper in it to treat them.
btw, its recommended that you keep clown loaches in odd numbers to keep them from pairing off.

Do you have any idea what they might be sick from? If not give us more details about them. From what you have said it could be any number of things but the fact that one looks better indicates the Maracyn 2 is probably working. I would keep going with the treatment for another 5 days and hope for the best.
Another possibility if these are new symptoms is that he is suffering from ammonia poisoning. The Maracyn will have killed your beneficial bacterial by now and you need to watch the ammonia level very closely. You are now cycling your tank all over again.

If you have carbon in your filter it will take the medicine out of the water. In this case the best thing to do is setup a hospital tank and give the sick fish the medication in there. Use a heater and filter (without carbon), take some water and gravel from your existing tank to bring along some of your bacteria.
