Red Dawn was a dramatization of the worst fears of the US during the Cold War. The invasion, and conquering of the continental US.

Spy who loved me was about two competeing world powers uniting to face a common enemy. Forwarded the idea that they could cooperate.

Hunt for Red October, completely Cold War material. A top secret Russian sub designed to win a nuclear war. The second biggest fear for the Americans. Well, maybe first. And the fact that everything happened off the record is the only reason that the shooting didn't start right there. Classical example of Cold War manuvering to win without triggering a "hot" war.

Well... all three are western-made movies that banked on the cold war stereotypes for their plots... The Hunt for Red October is a great movie to watch even if you don't have to do a report on it.

I dont know about the first two, but the hunt for red october has to deal with the subs (US vs. Soviets) beacuse the subs were very important during the cold war.
