Depends on what state you are talking about. In some states you can drive at 15.

in wisconsin you can get your permit when your 15 and a half (some states its younger) after you take drivers ed. and pass the exam. and then for the 6 months till your 16 you have to drive with a parent or some one older than 21 untill you take your road test.

The only answer I could see here is that she has taken a drivers-ed class in highschool/driving school allowing her to drive at a younger age and (depending on state law) with an adult driver present at all times, but not every one follows that through.

it depends. go to your dmv, and pick up a guide. in ca, its 15 1/2
but then you can get your permit. you still have to have taken drivers ed, and need a parent in the car.

Ask her how she got it. Some states have different ages to drive.
