Tucson- Did you read your own article??? Here, I'll help you..
Under the Clinton Gun Ban, which expired in 2004 under the Republican-controlled Congress, 19 so-called "assault weapons" -- in reality semi-automatic hunting and sporting rifles -- were banned for having characteristics that liberals found scary: certain stocks, grips, magazines and so forth. Under that 1994 law, manufacturers could still sell these weapons if they made them look less scary to liberals; HR 1022, however, would ban them entirely.
These are restrictions on certain firearms. Not OUTLAWING guns...

Tucson H…- Yes they are "restrictions". These are not needed for hunting or even protecting yourself. They are for killing people. With your state of mind, seems it would be ok for me to go and grab a nuclear weapon or a dirty bomb. Hell, I'm a "law abiding citizen" right? Everybody is, until they break the law.

You're wrong. If you are aware of this bill, and still stated what you did, you're an outright liar. Look who proposed it, look what it covers, then rethink your blanket statement.
Did you read it? Did you see who proposed it? Did you see it also includes wwII era rifles as well? Hardly call that "restrictions". More like the first step in outlawing all guns. You're interpreting it to fit your "guns will never be banned" idealism, as opposed to seeing it for what it is: the first step in the removal of firearms from the hands of law-abiding Americans.
And how do a collapsable stock and a bayonet lug make a gun evil? Had any drive-by stabbings lately. And how does a 30 round clip make you wanna murder a family but a 10 rounder makes you want to plant roses and used the gun for gardening? Its oppressive bullsh*t, and now the liberals (see who proposed it) want to go even farther. Give me a break and wake the f*ck up.
Why are you under the assumption that guns are for hunting? Don't see the words "hunting" or "sporting" in the Second. If you are law abiding and can afford a nuke, have at it. But what would you want one for? The law breakers are the ones that want that kind of stuff, and laws be damned, they can get their hands on them, just like firearms. You're right, those guns are for killing PEOPLE. You're point? Why do you think they wrote the second? "The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort against tyranny in government." - Thomas Jefferson.
I have an AR-15 not for hunting or "sporting", but, if ever necessary, to kill HUMANS who become "tyrants" (see above quote) and attempt to supress my freedom and personal rights. Get it?

I was in favor of gun contol until around December of 2000 when the Supreme Court chose the 43rd President of the United States. While George W. Bush is running the country I am vehemently opposed to any laws that prevent me from owning a gun on any day I choose to purchase one. The last thing I want is a government run by him to have easier access to weapons than the American people.

I am a moderate, so I'm kinda split on this issue. I think Republicans have good reson to worry about gun rights. Every year gun regualtions get though and tougher and republicans see themselves losing their rights. Now I personally think that although we do have the right to have guns and what not, they are dangerous. And the shootings to day at Virgina Tech we're just horrible. Events like today and Columbine make gun regualtions increase. Republicans have good reason to fear for gun rights.

Why would we let people take our guns away, hell with all the fire power we have in our homes, who is going to take them, I don't think the public will stand for it. I think what the will do is impose more laws and the age limit and then finally stop selling guns and ammo. So never say never, because these some-buggers will find a way.

Oh, dig deeper my pal. Take a appear on the lawyer ordinary he picked, Eric Holder. I'll supply you a hyperlink however do your self a prefer and google "Eric Holder 2d modification" and notice what comes up. While your at it learn up on operation "quick and livid" through the ATF. That management is operating very needed to control public opinion on gun legislation. Sure Obama himself is doing just a little tune and dance to relax people who find themselves too lazy to scratch the outside and notice what is beneath, and it appears it's operating, however when you suppose Mr. "gun clinging, god clinging" is cool together with your weapons you're ridiculously improper.

I am Liberal and own guns. I do not want to take away the right to have them. But, there definitely needs to be controls on weapons that are by their nature "people killing machines"...and by that i mean the assault rifles, fast clip type hand guns and anything of a military nature where the amount of bullets that can be put into the air is very high...there is no reason to have a hand gun than can be reloaded in seconds with 12 bullet clips. you can defend yourself easily with a black powder civil war replica.
I am liberal but think that if you take away my rifle and shotgun, this is no longer America

Really, I suppose you don't know who had this quote? "If it weren't for that damned Constitution, I'd have every gun in the United States." That would be SuperLiberal, Slick Willy....talking to the Canadian Prime Minister. So I WILL continue accusing liberals of trying to disarm America. How about Sarah Brady, isn't she a liberal, I thought so....so who's the brainwashed retard now.YOU ARE

Stop accusing liberals? Why ? They're the ones solely responsible for anti gun legislation in this country.
Have you heard of the Brady Campaign and their constant push to ban guns? Or how about the majority of Democrats in power happen to be anti-gun and are pushing HR1022 at the moment ..
I'm from Illinois a state ran by liberals and it's a constant fight here just to own a handgun..Our senate and house push new anti-gun legislation daily..
You want Republicans to stop worrying and stop blaming liberals? Then tell the Democrats in power Nationwide to stop pushing so much anti-gun legislation. We need to enforce the 20,000 gun laws we have..Not persecute law abiding gun owners.

thank you for bringing this up....I'm a far left, and I've NEVER said that people shouldn't have guns...and to be honest I've seen maybe one or two liberals that want guns outlawed....
i don't think people should be able to have automatic weapons because you don't hunt deer with a machine gun...i also think that the gun laws should be a lot stricter.
