Without force of arms, the constitution is just a piece of paper with words written on them. You libs fear a coup by Bush so much, but you wouldn't do a d*** thing about it. The second ammendment was meant as a defense against a tyranny

Argle: Ah well then I guess you'll agree that Iraqi insurgents are completely ineffective against that same military.

Argle: Is this seriously a game to you? Are you keeping points? If the U.S. was ever to suffer a coup by a president, of course there would be people both civilians and military that would be effective in putting it down. The military has it's allegiance to the constitution, not the president. But if the government were to pay enough people (Americans and otherwise) they could do so all the more easily if the overall populace was unarmed.
The people need teeth collectively in order to keep government in check.

The whole idea behind our current system of government was for the government to fear the people hence the second amendment. Without the second amendment the government becomes tyrannical. Take a look at what happened in the former Yugoslavia for example. An genocide occured due to the population being unarmed. The first action was to confiscate all personal weapons. This has happened time and time again throughout history.

The founding fathers made it clear that the government should fear the people and not the other way around. There should be other things governments fear of the people besides armed confrontations but it is a start.

In a true democracy a government should fear it's people. The reason being in a true democracy people would actually vote and hold elected officials accountable for thier actions;however, this isn't the case.
As Thomas Jefferson said: When a people fears it's government you have tyranny...When a government fears its people you have democracy.

The people are armed with a voice and the power of the vote. I can't imagine living in a society where the government is fearful of an armed society.

of path you will desire to no longer worry your government, in case you do you're the two in the incorrect united states or you will desire to get extra in contact in the technique. I worry the place particular absolutely everyone seems to be attempting to take our united states as i will't stay in a socialist/communist state and the phobia stems from understanding what a revolution might do to our united states. the government would desire to be careful of its voters, artwork tricky for them and do as they are directed. The dems say their became right into a mandate over the final election this is organic BS, human beings basically voted for a metamorphosis in congress. it is not something yet unadulterated demagoguery. we've a regulation of the land, it incredibly is to guard us from the government. At this component congress is in violation of the form on an rather much on an accepted basis foundation and that all of them would desire to get replaced. we want term limits NOW, we want citizne legislators, no longer a gaggle of corrupt profession politicians, who're raping our united states for their earnings and re-election. have you ever learnt that individuals have confidence bush extra advantageous than they have confidence congress? Congress has the backside approval score in polls. each ask your self why? individuals understand they are crooks, yet they think of their crooks are not that undesirable, yet you realize what, they are, crooks is crooks.

The Government should respect the power of the people because if you read the constitution we can dissolve the government and form a new one.

The government of the people, by the people and for the people should always bear in mind that it can be replaced and therefore, should be mindful and fearful of that fact.

Do you seriously think you and a few other nuts will be able to attack and take DC or any other place with hunting rifles and a bowie knife? Against the US military?
Please check into the nearest rubber room.
*good one - but the logic is flawed. The insurgents haven't taken over or controlled anything except in non strategic areas. You lose again.

The government is paid for and funded by the people of this country.
If we fear our government we have tyranny, fascism, communism call it what you will.
The government should fear it's people. We put them their to do the work so we don't have to because we trust them. Or we don't trust them. or......nevermind.
