Keep in mind that, though babies have sensitive skin, animals skin is about ten times more sensitive. The best thing to use is a small animal shampoo, preferably something called "Bunny Bath" (or another shampoo intended for rabbits). There is also shampoo aimed at guinea pigs. Unfortunitly, you have to go to a pet store for all of those, and there really isn't anything else you should use. Johnson's baby shampoo may be used once in a VERY small amount, but be VERY careful and DO NOT get it anywhere near it's face.
Have fun and be careful!

Here's information on bathing a guinea pig I found on the web. The site is listed below.
"Bathing
Bathing is quite stressful for guinea pigs, and most guinea pigs rarely need bathing, if ever."
"If you do decide to give your guinea pig a bath, you may be able to find a shampoo designed especially for guinea pigs (cavies). Otherwise, it is best to use a mild shampoo formulated for kittens, and some owners use baby shampoo."
"Use a shallow pan of warm (not too hot!) water, and lather your guinea pig's body only. You do not want to get shampoo or water in the eyes or ears. Make sure you rinse very well. Towel dry your guinea pig as best as you can, and then make sure your guinea pig stays in a nice warm place until he or she is completely dry."
Message to Bre: never bathe a hamster, they can get a respiratory infection from doing this. You should provide a sand bath using chinchilla sand or hamster sand that is now available instead.

Here is a web site. The frequency with which the enclosure is cleaned depends on its design, the materials out of which it is made, and the number of guinea pigs that reside within in. As a general rule of thumb, the enclosure and all cage "furniture" should be cleaned and disinfected once weekly. Food and water containers should be cleaned and disinfected once daily. More than one set of containers should be maintained, and the soiled set should be washed in a dishwasher, if possible. Vigorous scrubbing of the enclosure and "furniture" with hot water and soap and a thorough rinse should be followed by use of a disinfectant (Roccal-D: Winthrop). Vinegar is often required to remove the scale deposited by the crystalline urine of guinea pigs.

You have to use special soap (Small Animal Shampoo) from the pet store. Anything else is going to make him sick.
If you need to wash him more than once every 3 - 4 months or so, talk to your vet because it may be a sign of skin or parasite problems.

i bathe my guinea pig each 2 months or so or at the same time as they soil themselves too a lot. it truly is quite no longer needed yet in case you want to, you should use human shampoo it truly is no longer too good (not in any respect use anti-dandruff) - those for kids are ok i wager. in case you bathe them, you gotta have a small basin 1/2-crammed with water. attempt to placed them in it which include your 2 fingers less than them, you are able to enable bypass once you imagine it truly is effective (it truly is gonna be not uncomplicated because that they don't quite like baths) - do in basic terms not go away them contained in the water like that or they are going to drown. you are able to practice the shampoo contained in the water. it truly is variety of like a bath for them, get what i recommend? be comfortable with the guinea pigs in spite of the truth that. dry them with a towel after because that they are gonna be shaking plenty (they get quite chilly after a bath). i wager it truly is it.
