I'm aspiring to perform on Broadway one day and I was wondering if anyone had ideas on places to audition around Portland, OR (if there are any).

First of all, you should plan on attending the summer PATA auditions....they have every major and minor theater company there, and it is a quick 3 minute audition in front of all of them.

Next, you need to audition for Northwest Children's Theater, Blue Monkey Theater Company, and, if you are musical, the Broadway Rose Theater Company

Also, get into Ryan Artists or Actors Only or Murphy Talent Management and get an agent. There is a movie filming this summer, and they may need more people.

Portland only has two or three AE (Actor's Equity Union) houses, and you should steer clear of them until you have an accomplished resume.

One more thing.....go to the Yahoo Pdxbackstage list to connect with most of Portland's better resources:

Audition for your local and professional theatres in Portland, OR.

Go to the website of the local and professinal theaters in Portland and see if they list future productuctions. If they have something that interests you, see if there is a "role" for you. If so, call and ask about audition procedures.

I do recognise headquartered on my enjoy downtown Portland is far more secure than downtown L.A. - i flew into Portland at night time a couple of years again, and used to be amazed to peer fine-watching, good dressed females (without doubt no longer hookers) strolling across the downtown discipline, without doubt within the "worst" facet of the town - like close the bus depot, and many others. - it used to be a miles special suppose.
