The families, students, and entire VA Tech community are in my thoughts and prayers. This is an extremely tragic event. I believe alot of potential ways for preventing something like this in the future does start with parents and teachers through communication promoting healthy anger management, social skills, and overall good behavior. Family, friends, teachers, employers...we all need to take a stand and if we notice a loved one is acting differently we need to reach out to them and try to connect to help them. There are many small and large signs in ones behavior that range from drawing away from others to acting out in un-natural ways for the personality. Unfortunately I know in society that there will be tragic events in life that we can not stop or alter...however I strongly believe that people of all ages yearn for someone to care for and to care for them in return...a source of guideance and faith.

I've already prayed for them. But to be honest, I don't know what could be done. most college campuses are pretty open, dorms may be locked, or it may require a security card, but libraries, lecture halls, cafeterias tend to be open and anyone can walk on campus. Especially at the larger schools where there are 20,30 40K students, some of them living off campus, commuters, it is hard to prevent an attack like this.

I have definitely already prayed for the families, and will continue to do so. I am otherwise in too much of a state of shock to think about solutions right now. I'm sorry.

...and supply mercy and convenience for those in sorrow. provide braveness and potential to the pupil physique and team members, enable them to be secure from psychological injury. Heal them in a manner that throughout ordinary terms you could. We additionally pray for the demented soul of that one misplaced youthful guy, and desire that others like him won't act in a egocentric way as he did. would all of them come to know You, no longer in insurrection, yet in acceptance, with hearts of love and peace to persist with. help the advisors cope with the bereaved, and supply wisdom to the regulation enforcement officers in imposing new protection plans so those activities will now no longer ensue on college or perhaps extreme college campuses. No. The time to pray is before something like this happens. Their kids are dead. No prayer is going to make them feel better......ever.

I'm sure they asked that same questions 8 years ago almost to the day, when the Colombine massacre occured. It is nothing short of horrifying that it happened again, worse.
