You`ve to wipe guns out of the street totally, be it legal or illegal along with drugs, only then you could be safe. Guns with ordinary people should carry capital punishment....Take for example Japan, you may be given a life sentence even for possessing a fire arm or a long blade, one reason why people live there without fear...and crime rate is very low.

There will be no change. The right to bear arms in built into the constitution and the culture and there are millions of guns in the country so even if they pass laws to stop people having guns there would still be millions around illegally.

It was time for change years ago, another school shooting isn't going to change anything. I'm guessing you've never been to America. This is not the first school shooting (though in terms of casualties, it is the worst) and it won't be the last but the gun lobbyists and Republican guard--excuse me, party-- have too strong of a stranglehold on politics to enact stricter gun laws.

Why should there be more and more and more gun control when the current laws are not inforced.
One thing those Left Wing Nuts don't understand is that Guns dont kill people, People kill people.
You cannot come up with one time that a gun has killed someone. It takes a person to load the gun, slide a shell into the chamber, flipp off the safety, aim and pull the trigger.

By most peoples' definitions, I am a "Liberal," but I happen to believe very strongly in our constitutional right to own guns. I don't think that changing the constitution is going to help. I think the laws that are in place now- no guns for mentally unhealthy people, no guns for criminals- are important and should reamin as they are. The problem is illegal ownership of guns. If there were stiffer penalties for that, it might change things. But, as I see it, these types of things are going to continue to happen no matter what we do.

I don't think we can stop the sale of guns, drugs are being sold on the street and we haven't been able to stop that. We need better education. Gun safety classes should be taught at every high school.. When I was in high school my friends had lots of guns, we took gun safety classes and learn to properly handle a gun and most of to respect them. We never did anything crazy.

All of those people who want to keep guns just explain this:
USA most guns are legal and UK they mostly are not. You have 35 times the chance of being shot dead in the USA than in the UK.
Of course the NRA won't mention that little statistic and the USA love their guns so no politician will try a total ban.

I believe that the gun control laws only limit the "legal" ownership.
We need stricter punishment for illegal ownership/sales.
