Call the Community Theater in your city and ask if they teach acting classes.
Also, call the Drama Department of the Universities in your city and ask if they can recommend acting classes.

there are agents,managers and casting directors who hold classes. acting is pretty much acting. if you can act on stage you can act in front of a camera, there are just some slight differences. any experience and training you can get is important. your big drawback is where you are, there's just not going to be much acting opportunities in maryland. most everything is done in LA and NY. you really need to be in one of those places to do this.
